Follow this ridge trail past picnic areas and pavilions to the entrance to the park, then cross the dam on a concrete sidewalk, returning to your car. And thanks to its nearly-level elevation, it’s also one of our favorite places to run near Atlanta. Please always practice good trail etiquette. will do this one again. There are a few small sections that include rocks and roots, but typically it is hard packed dirt or sidewalk. Great for families. There are also sports fields, picnic pavilions, benches, and areas accessible to the lake for fishing. Views of the lake open wide on the trail’s right side, one of the best lake views in the park. This trail is very well established and easy to traverse. I’m pretty apt to trip, so I just had to watch the path - came through it like a champ. The trail turns southeast, passing some side trails offering neighborhood access to the park. good distance ...beautiful trail ...an actual nature trail & not concrete walking path. Most people use this trails for hiking, but it’s a really good trail for get some conditions into the mountain bike again. We went about 8:30 and by the time we left it was getting a lot more crowded. Lots of picnic areas and bridges.

The park is currently operated by the City of Brookhaven Parks and Recreation Department. Several rose bushes dot the sides of the trail, and benches offer a great place to soak in the views after the run. We decided to talk about scary and creepy stories we have heard about and thought it would be a perfect convo to have while it got dark. 40 min walk, 1.66 miles, minimal elevation changes. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. But it’s a great trail, though, for a scenic run or hike in metro Atlanta. Bit muddy from the rain on the unpaved trail.

We weren’t sure exactly the right way to go and doubled back the way we came. This trail is maintained thanks to the hard work of countless volunteers and donations from supporters of Park Pride.

This is an easy trail with little to no elevation gain with the only small obstacles being exposed roots and the occasional puddle.

First inner city hike while tracking route with AllTrails. The trail includes a variety of scenery including woodsy areas, bridges, wetlands, and passes near picnic pavilions. Area was peaceful enough though most of North Fork Nancy Creek looks like it had dried up long ago.Saw kids playing in the water but with all the sewer manholes throughout the area I would not think it wise to let my child in the water. Stay on the marked trail, tell someone where you're going, pack safety and wayfinding essentials, and don't rely on a mobile phone to find your way. The trail arcs eastbound, crossing North Fork Nancy Creek over a wooden bridge at .75 mile. Everyone social distancing, lightly traveled at the time we arrived. Nice trail.
