The 12 year-old Rare Blend brings the familiar Appleton Estate aromas of pitted fruit (like peaches, apricots, prunes) and baking spices, but the charred oak is fairly prominent and brings the matured ensemble to a whole new level. A useful resource for hunting down that rare bottle or a birthday-year wine for a loved one’s special day. The rums are considered "estate" rums for the sugar (ultimately molasses) grown and produced on the same grounds as the distillery--think of it as craft distilling writ-large like a plantation.
