Set up, and then as the sun went down the clouds and wind rolled in and it was pretty intense all night. Lots of excellent spots for sunrises, most of them not near shelters.

229. 32 comments. This isn’t Erwin. If you look closely on a clear day you can see the skyscrapers in Atlanta. It is a very steep hike down from the summit of Tray Mountain. It’s a great spot if you ever get a chance to camp there. Today was really tough for me. This turn is about a quarter mile south of the intersection of GA 17/75 and GA 180. It is free standing so you will also have to carry the tent poles.

Aufgrund der Steigung und Distanz ist die Strecke als schwierig einzustufen. The temperature had been steady dropping all day and I was starting to get chilled from being soaked from walking in the rain. Heading back on trail soon and look forward to seeing this view.
