I read Tidelands and, although an interesting insight into the rise of Oliver Cromwell and the demise of Charles I, I felt a sense of unease and foreboding throughout the book. I never was interested in reading all those books about royalty and the upper classes (which, I understand, were very inaccurate) in her previous novels, but this sounds much more interesting.
