The East Bank area along historic Main Street originally was part of the town of St. Anthony before it merged into Minneapolis. Can be pretty busy. It is similar to Niagara Falls in that the underlying geology fundamentally controls its location. I fell in love with the Twin Cities on this bike ride. Not a proper trail (i.e parts of it are on the pavement) but nonetheless a great overall experience!

I loved running by the converted buildings. it was a pretty trail, more a walk than a hike but I added the lower trail and got some nice views! I went over the Mississippi River on a bridge, which then took me to a beautiful, brick-roaded neighborhood with breweries and a hip old movie theatre.
