Even though you don't like Charlotte, could you not just have it on the birth certificate and just call her Lottie? Violet ... We laugh now, but she wasn't breathing when she was born and was purple so we say, Violet was turning Violet!

Viable nicknames for Violet in my opinion would be: Vi, Vee, Vivi, and Lettie. ! Lottie is a diminutive of 'Charlotte' but iit can also be a name in its own right. My youngest is Violet Elizabeth. Honestly I love purple as a nn, it’s adorable. Nicknames: Vi, Letty/Lettie/Letti, Lottie, Vivi, Ollie. , Haha yeah I'm starting to think it's cuter and cuter!!

I've thought of: Scarlett, Violet, Lorelei (?). The 'e' ending somehow seems less girly and nicknamey than the 'ie' ending IMO so that could work if you're worried about her having a 'proper' name. We already have Zachary (Zach) and Theodore (Theo). With all of the spelling variations, the girl would have to constantly spell her name though, and some of the spellings could be hard to pronounce in anglophonic countries. So pronunciation, I say Violet/Violetta with a distinct sound where the O is, but it isn't an O sound or anything.

It's a very brief "uh" really. I think a noun as a middle name sounds a little cheesy, although maybe you like it!

I think its worth noting that while Lottie used to be the default nickname for Charlotte--I'm not sure how many Charlottes are going to be nicknamed Lottie.

Like Violet Joy seems like a fun name for a character but maybe a little on the silly side for an actual human.

Lotte on it's own is very popular over here, and is most definitely a standalone name in Flanders & the Netherlands. (My husband keeps jokingly saying he will call her Purple.
