Admission to Bergen County Academies is highly competitive, as the school typically accepts about 270 of the 1,600+ applicants every year through a process that includes letters of recommendation, exams, and interviews. Other than that, the teachers are best part of the school.

Staten Island Technical High School also offers an Early College Initiative and a College Dual-Enrollment program. Comparison of universal scoring reveals that Rochester Adams High School excels in college readiness, math, and reading compared to other schools within the district. Athletic participation also provides students with a sense of belonging to the study body and physical fitness opportunities. Through hands-on projects, job shadowing, and internships, each student will gain first-hand experience in their selected program area. In September, IMSA had a virtual opportunity fair, where new students like me (sophomores) could discover the variety of clubs, organizations, and school-wide programs they could become a part of. There have been tons of activities for students to get involved and be a part of IMSA's "virtual campus." Clubs and activities are numerous and are mainly centered on academics and community service. The workload can get pretty heavy, teachers can sometimes cause frustration, and without a doubt, it can cause quite a bit of stress. UHS is one of three high schools in Monongalia Schools Public Schools District. Through an engaging, hands-on curriculum, PLTW encourages the development of problem-solving skills, critical thinking, creative and innovative reasoning, and a love of learning. Although some students prefer to read their physics textbooks over having face-to-face human conversations, HTHS is charming in a nerdy way. Additionally, students can take dual-enrollment courses as 11th and 12th grade students. Every student takes introductory courses in robotics, TV/movie production, research and technical writing, and electronics. It's always a plus not having the bathrooms smell like drugs!
