Amicalola Falls State Park is nestled in North Georgias mossy, waterfall-filled Chattahoochee National Forest, set in the rolling, vibrant-green southern Appalachian Mountains. Saw two water sources, but I found a small water flow coming out of the side the rock on the trail so pulled from there. My boyfriend and I actually ran out of water around mile six if I had to guess. An unknown settler was given this land after the lottery. Get there early for good parking, and little crowds. For me, it’s always about the journey. I did not see a single Blue Blaze within a mile of Springer Mountain. Great hike, definitely moderate plus, but would highly recommend!
